A drop in backlinks?

thanks to topic starter for this subject , i was starting getting worried :(

I'm not sure what everybody is so worried about. Yahoo is probably just screwing around while Bing puts it's hand in the pot.

It will be interesting to see if rankings at Google are affected at all by this update at Yahoo. I don't expect that they will be, but good to watch nonetheless...

I dont know why most of you are so afraid. This happened 3 or more times in the last months. Drop of backlinks to around one half and some days later back to normal. Thats only Yahoo... and it happens all the time... so dont worry...

Are you guys aware that Yahoo was completely tranfered to Bill (yea that bill) and they have a major deal with G now?

It's possible that Search Explorer reverted to an earlier backup of site's backlinks
(ie last month) while they are doing some work or updating their system. Even if it's
permanent it doesn't really mean much since everyone most likely lost the same
amount of links, so it's a level playing field.

I have a small test site that dropped from 400+ down to 9 links. But, it's still ranked #1 so what do I care . . .

The only reliable backlink checker is the one in google webmaster tools. It is google who ranks you and makes you money so you should only care about google. YSE is only good to see the backlinks of your competitors. but for your own links only google webmaster tools will be the way to go.

i didn't know what was going on so I searched on here to see if it's happening to others...I dropped about 300 yesterday and then today I lost 50% of my backlinks.

yup it happened to me aswell, loss 25% backlinks.
but seem has no affect to page rank

Happened to me guys, think theres some sorta backlink update going on in yahoo

Looks like there's still a lot of people that think I'm all bull***
Same here bobbylove, the bad thing is I am getting threatening phone calls....

Couldn't finish my post but you can read it as is here: http://nichedog.com/blog/massive-backlinks-drop-in-yahoo-site-explorer/

LOL LOL LOL! :D :D :D

So this Guy wants us to put a whole spuntaxed 500 word article in the comment so that we have Unique Comment (and not the dup content as per his blog post). Its actually the indexing and content on the Blogs (on which you spam) that will decide if your Comment Backlink will be counted or not!

First page in Yahoo or Google? This are the same crappy answers as: Yes, i lost also 100 backlinks...... <--- 100 from a total of??????????? O MY!!!!

The drop is not even 24hours old so you think you already see the results for your droped backlinks? I'dont think so :p

I have the most up to date softwares and sites that are in real time, so I can see exactly what's happening with my websites.

Also, I think Yahoo dropped the crappy links from everyones' websites.

Because more than half of my backlinks are legit, and they managed to stay, so only some of the ones I did with scrapebox, and other softwares have been removed from yahoo.

And ALL of my keywords are on the first page for Google after the 70,000+ links were removed.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what yahoo shows because 97% of my traffic comes from Google.
