Could anyone tell me how I can hide the referral on CJ.com? Would a service like bit.ly redirect it properly and safely?

Pretty sure those services will not hide your referrer. If you use a javascript redirect (location.replace) it will either blank the referrer or change the referrer to the page its located on, depending on the browser.
