I have purchased and built around 15 PBN sites so far for my business, however 2 of them do not show up on Google when I try to direct site search (site:xyzsite.com). Does this mean I made an error in purchasing them, they are not indexed? I bought them on auction for around $79 each, is there anything I can do to get them indexed or help salvage them? How can I check if it has been indexed or de-indexed?

Install Webmaster Tools and check whether they are penalized or not. Good chance they are.

If they're not penalized then use the 'Fetch as Google' tool in the old webmaster tools and press 'Request Indexing'.

You're welcome.

Thank you for your help! Don't you have to login to webmaster tools through a gmail account? How can I get around that? Forgive my ignorance, I'm still pretty new at this. If they are penalized, is there any recourse at all? Don't want to just burn $160 alothough I understand that's part of the game.

Just use proxy and separate Gmails.

And if they are penalized, just forget them and move on. Learn how to check them properly next time. No other way around it.

Thanks man, seriously. It's been penalized for "pure spam" lol, cloaking and scraping content. It says I can request a review of the new pages I created (hasn't been crawled since 2017). Is that worth a shot in hell?

Even if, I wouldn't put such domain into my PBN. Call me paranoid, but I wouldn't do that.

Okay, thanks. Outside of Domcop and checking in ahrefs/majestic myself, I don't get how I can avoid this in the future but anyway I appreciate you answering me man, don't get a ton of help from this forum! Thanks.
