I'm not in the affiliate game or anything around that realm so I can't speak for you affiliate dudes and feel bad for the recent traffic losses, but maybe something here can work for you too. But those of you that run legit blogs, have real businesses, etc etc need to take advantage of this right now!
We all know generative search is here and it's here to stay.
But have you checked on mobile? Check it.
Oh baby look at the image it includes. I can tell you exif data optimized featured images in WP are workinng here and images are more important than ever and you should check my other post on image optimization. HERE
But look below the generated sentence for many searches it's still showing the organic results in a carousel in the Ai Overview window. And if you take advantage of the featured list snippet you will be the first in the carousel.
It's really easy to do this.
Write a blog like top 10 whatever, (seen it work well for destinations, places to go, people, and any entities really)
Make sure the top 10 that you list are h2s.
ToC with jump links to said H2'd
Even better if you can include some of the text in the jump link, example of jump link with text below
Internal linking, TOCs, backlinks, and whatever can append and highlight text.
