Hey there,

I have my first meeting tomorrow (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...96-wow-7878s-mailing-method-really-works.html) and I'm lost about what should I bring in regard to contract/SOW/etc.

At first I thought about making a contract but I'm French and I actually have no idea how to build a professionnal contract so this idea is so-so. I started one tho just in case I decide to go this route.

Now I wonder if just bringing a paper stating my different services + description + price for each, timeline, and things like that and having the prospect sign it if he agrees on hiring me would be enough?

Thanks!! :D

You have to make a detailed contract that must have all terms and conditions about your services and payment details also. You must cover all aspects in it.

^ Thanks to both of you!! I had to make a new one in French (since that's my market) but I used your as a model.

If it is a really big contract I would suggest getting a lawyer. It is really up to you but if I were to sign anything in person, I would want it official.

best of luck at your meeting! let us know how it went. Also, don't forget to calm the pressure of just getting a signature. Be sure to walk with a blank pad and a pen to ask if there is any other help you may provide to satisfy their needs.

peace!

I'd like to know the same thing. First meeting on another client soon, what's the best thing to bring and say if they want a re-design?

I dont take anything like proposals, SOW's or contracts, because you will go into meetings and clients will come out with things that they want completely from left field. And if you have quoted your up that creek without a paddle.

When i meet a client i take my presentation and some information about their situation. This allows me to show the value of my services, what i can do for them and how i will go about my business. oh and my set of questions that i like to go through.

After the meeting i write up a proposal that is pretty custom to their specific needs (well not really lol. But something slightly different is unique every time). I send them the proposal. Follow up in 2 days time. Then send them the contract.

Done and dusted.
