A Blogging Novice

Hey guys,


I stumbled across this website a few weeks ago and have been reading the forums for a while now and I decided to finally register and chat to people. So hello to you all!

The basis of this thread is basically just to get advice, I've been contemplating running a mens style/fashion site for a while now purely for fun as I have a lot of time for fashion and well dressed people. My question to all of you is do you think its achievable for anyone to start a blog in any particular niche and succeed? I am no expert in fashion, while I do hold a degree it is not fashion related; I consider my self a pretty stylish well dressed guy and my friends and family always ask me where I get my gear from and what to wear, is it possible for someone like me to succeed? I'v researched the niche pretty well, and there fair few people doing it, but I have a great love for fashion and style and thought it would be worth it. I'm doing it for the fun, and running a blog is something I'd love to do and build an audience, any money generated is just a plus for me.

Any advice would be appreciated, I'v already set my site up etc although I haven't posted content as of yet. I won't post the link due the rules.

You could do an instagram/tumblr and get a large following and send them over to your site. Or start all and continue with pictures etc.

As for succeeding.. As long as you continually put in effort, and time and add your unique touch. I don't see how you can fail.

Hello.Welcome to BHW.Its nice to your step forward to niche which is fashion.And in fashion,the trends are changing within seconds.So its a wide area for you to engage and make some cash.i recommended to be a regular visitor here and choose some topics connected to your area,You will finally get the breakthrough you've been looking for and learn the evergreen process that works now and forever.

And i am sure of one thing,niche is much important.If you not sure about the current trends in fashion, i advice you to hire someone do some works for you.It took me years to figure out what really works in finding profitable niches for me,when i was starting.If you think this is your niche,then what is stopping you.Next time share me your success stories

I agree with the second poster. Instagram + Tumblr is an awesome combination for someone who wants to do what you do. If you have a niche, like street fashion, or euro-fashion, etc. then the task will be even easier.
Fashion blogs have the potential to get VERY big on Tumblr. Double that up with an instagram account and some of your own photography and you'll make it.

First of all, welcome to BHW. The niche you've chosen is an awesome one and the trend in fashion is consistently changing and you got a lot to share to the word through your blog. Be updated with the current trend and share it in your blog. Start FB page and other social channels, build big audience and keep them engaged with you. Sign up for best moving affiliates program and advertise on your blog. People are more interested knowing latest trends in fashion and keep updated. Your efforts will earn dollars for you one day, and that is not too far with right marketing practices.

All of the advice is of great use to me, especially the Insta + Tumblr suggestion. However, while I do have a personal Instagram, I haven't got a Tumblr and wouldn't know where to start with building an audience on either; my Instagram followers are just purely my friends.

As for a niche I've gone for an extremely particular one, one that I'm not actually sure fully exists. You see, I'm a regular subscriber to GQ, Esquire and Vouge all of which are great magazines with brilliant advice, however, one day as I was scrolling through twitter hashtags I noticed a guy post " I wish there was a magazines where they didn't expect you to spend a sh** tonne of money on a pair of socks. What about us regular people?" - This is where I got my niche, why not create something for the regular people while still incorporating a part of my site for the finer things. Thus the name Regular Style came from and a website was born. I have a long way to go, and as for content I'm still coming up with ideas as whether to create my own content or re-write articles from big magazines.

Iv created my own content before, and while it is hard and time consuming, it is rewarding. But my fashion trend knowledge is limited, I love style, I love fashion but I'm no expert so I am on the back foot already. I have the foundation, I just need a spark to get me going.
