Hi Guys,

Have any of you ever gotten a -950 Penalty? If so what did you do to recover?

Maybe you can go to the google webmaster panel, I am not sure of this but they can actually help with penalties.
 
94% of the website that were hit in the updates never recovered. So might be a good idea to startover. 301 the website to a parasite/buffer website and link parasite/buffer website to the new domain.
 
Has anyone successfully recovered from a -950 Penalty?
 
has it happened on one of those sites your selling links on? From what i I've learnt about it, you need a complete content wash.
 
Nope.the sites I am selling links on are 100% white hat.the have 100000 pages of unique content.
This is some other site I have.
 
I'll be honest I'd transfer the site to a new domain,I have never heard of anyone recovering from those,maybe someone has,never heard of it myself.
 
try to de-optimize the OnPage SEO you will recover soon.
950 = Over Optimization Penalty .
 
I had about 10% of my sites recover naturally but you should pretty much start over. Of all the things I tried, none of them worked.
 
That's a serious penalty, and although I have never received such, I would consider starting over from scratch.
My own experience has led me to believe that time is better spent putting penalized sites on the back burner..

Yes It can be recovered for sure. as -950 is a big penalty, it can be some serious mistake/harmful links which are pointing to your site.

I have recovered one -800 penalty for one of my client, In his case he had same content available on three pages and it was creating duplicate content issue. Along with it, one of his competitor was doing negative SEO for him...We sorted out some bad links though webmaster world and then disavow them..

After 2 weeks, things came back and we were on normal ranking..

Hope it helps you in your case as well.

I wasn't considering this to be a client's site, since I have no clients of my own. If it is they probably don't want to hear "start over!"

Curious about the site you fixed, aka sam, was their site new or recently switched to a cms where duplicate was showing up? It would seem like they would have had their content indexed prior to the penalty, thus negating dupe content being an issue...

In my client's case, he had recently changed the cms to wordpress ...and it created a lots of duplicate content for him.

Well then, hopefully Tawsifhossain's site will be fixed by noindexing everything that is dupe!

Actually google does weird things, don't be surprised if it gets back it's normal ranking. I'd wait 4-6 days to see if the rankings come back before starting over again. If you're very sure the site is penalized then you can redirect it to a competitors site and that will probably sink them too.

I will try deoptimising the content. I didnt find much information about the penalty itself when I searched on Google.
 
I did a new site. The old one lost penalty ten months later. Now I have both in top ten.
