Internal linking or internal linking is a simple but effective SEO strategy that many people still forget about. Especially Newbies.
Have you ever done a case study of increasing rankings and traffic using only internal links? Here are 9 internal linking strategies you can use to boost the rankings of your pages.
1. NATURAL INTERNAL LINKS
This is the strategy I use most often because it is simple and effective. You just need to access Google, use the site:url operator "keyword". Find all the articles on your website that contain that keyword, group the content and start linking them together in the right context.
However, this is the way to do it when you are not the one doing the overall keyword set or SEOing the old website. When you make your own overall keywords for the website, all keywords and keyword phrases must be clearly divided according to structure and noted in the file. Internal linking is done right after posting content. It is item (4) below.
2. BUILD INTERNAL LINKS FROM NEW ARTICLES TO OLD ARTICLES AND VISA
When you publish a new article, you need to immediately build internal links from that article to other articles on your website. On the contrary, you also need to build links from other pages to new articles, this will help Google easily detect your new articles, index them and rank them faster.
You should build at least one internal link to your new article using Link Whisper, it will help you avoid orphaned articles (articles without internal links) in the future. If you audit an old website, you can use Screaming Frog software to find and fix Orphaned Page errors.
It only takes a few seconds with Link Whisper to get suggestions and check the boxes next to the internal links you want, they are all built automatically after you make your selections.
3. DIVERSE ANCHOR TEXT FOR INTERNAL LINKS
Many people say that you need an anchor text ratio formula when building internal links. Forget that because it really doesn't matter, but you need to diversify the anchor texts for your internal links with exact keywords, expanded keywords, urls, images, keywords. Generic (should be limited) like "here" and especially entity keywords and Semantic keywords.
Search for entity and Semantic keywords using tools like Topicalrelevance, Google Natural Language (NLP), Entitieschecker
Build as many internal links as possible as long as they are all in the right context, without being awkward as if you were trying to include the word to add an internal link. Use ChatGPT if you need help with ideas.
4. BUILD LINKS WITH TOPIC CLUSTER (TOPIC CLUSTER)
A topic cluster will include a pillar page (main topic) - an overview of the topic you want to build authority on, it will introduce and link to the supporting article (topic related sub), supporting articles will also be linked to the pillar page and linked together in a sequential circle that gradually increases in content depth.
The main reason for doing so is to help readers and search engines understand your website and the relevance of the content, helping readers discover that content faster.

How do you do topic cluster?

again , 4 where is other 5

Useful content. Thanks for sharing. Where are the other 5 ways?

Thanks for taking the time to write these tips. It’s been 10 years or so since I stopped SEO’ing and I need to catch up a bit ;)
