Hello! I can't seem to find the answer anywhere for this, but what's the deal with the 800 keywords in GKP?

I upload a text file list of 2000 keywords I want to know the CPC and monthly searches of, but it only returns 800. Now when I try to download the CSV from the keyword ideas tab, that says 2000 keywords, but the CSV file has only 800 results again.

Am I stuck with checking in 800 word batches?

No, you should be able to upload and download up to 10 000 KWs (used to be 30 000 if I'm not mistaken); Just checked with 4 000 KWs with no problem. the reason you might be getting only 800 out of the 2 000 are "errors" - basically, if you KWs are too long or have special characters, this is seen as an error by KW Planner and these KWs are ignored.

...or duplicate Keywords, not 100% sure about duplciates, but they are probably removed as well

I just checked over 2000 KW'ds so Id agree with kpv that your keywords have weird characters or are too long.

Cool - I'm having no luck, I've tried KW list of 800, 850, 900, 1000, 4000 but getting no more than 800 results back out of it. I've also manually added a shitload of small unique keywords (that definitely weren't in the original) to the list, so that there's definitely more than 800 unique and error free keywords. I think big G is just being a penis. will try again in the morrow.

Right I'm still having a palava with this. Can someone please explain why I only get 800 keywords?

I've scraped a list of keywords is SB. I've removed all duplicates, and there are no errornous characters. I have saved this list as a plain .txt file. I've also tried saving the list from Excel as a CSV (comma delimited). There are 3987 keywords in this file.

I go to keyword planner, logged in, then to "get search volume for a list of keywords" and upload the txt file. I leave the text box (option 1) blank and click the "get search volume" button.

In the new window, the results table, I click the "keyword ideas tab". I would now expect to have all 3987 keywords right? It's only showing 800 though. So I click the download CSV button at the top right, next to show all (800). This CSV file has only 800 results.

So I add some more keywords manually to see if there is some weird problem where I maybe DO only have 800 keywords. And then I cut the list in half and try again. Every time I only get 800 results.

    What am I doing wrong?

OK so my last thought was that I'd missed something, and my keywords were too long, or something along them lines. So I got myself a list of every word in the dictionary, picked the first 4000, and get the same damn thing!

Gonna make a script that will cut my list into chunks of 800, and then I can import them separately and merge them all in Excel until I work out what's wrong.

    Cheers

OK so after a lot of testing, I managed to get it working.

If you don't target a country, it won't import more than 800, and you have to download as AdWords type and not Excel for it to save more than 800 to the download file!!!

WTF, now this is happening with my account and nothing can fix it; I tried targeting single country, different country, no country at all (global searches) and I can still import only 800 keywords. I was importing 10 000 keywords with the same settings easily right until yesterday, I wonder if this is a glitch, some sort of location thing, or temporary restriction.

BTW, I am using regular verified gmial, should I do something in order to turn this into a Adwords account? Maybe this is the reason???

It's happening to me again now. Such a cunt. Won't do any more than 800 in any way shape or form. I even made a little program to make my list perfect and show no errors but it still persists. Maybe it's a G thing?

Changed IP, cleared history and cookies, tried with a new and never used but verified gmail and still the same. It's either a location thing or they are limiting all accounts to max 800 keyword imports. It wouldn't surprise me, they started by allowing 30 000 keywords, then dropped to 10 000, and now it looks like they are going to lower the limit to 800 (or at least for some locations)

This is also happend to me, upload a 10,000 keywords CSV and when I try to download popup say 10,000 keywods (all ok until here) but when download just 800, I thinck this is a kind o restriction o penalization because I didnt change anything in setting and suddenly jut 800 results

Just more information on this, to try to determine which is the cause, I detect the situation I mean just 800 results after upload and get the result for 40,000 keywords (4 CSV files of 10,000) so maybe I reach the limit, also in the first file that return 800 results, the word "google" was included (maybe google dont like we research their marck)

No, it's not a restriction after x number of searches. I have tried with brand new accounts, clean IP, deleted cookies, etc. and I can still import only 800 keywords. Called a friend and asked him to try as well, the same result - he has never imported a single keyword before, but he also got limited to 800 keywords. So, it's either a location thing or restriction for non-active Adwords accounts. Either way, it sucks

I also try clean cache, cookies, new IP, diferent accounts and nothing works, I think you are right this could be a restriction for non-active accounts.

Thanks for you offer blakamia but I really need to get the results directlly, and if the problem is a non-active account I posible will add some funds to the account

    Heya antoro,

If you want to get the results directly you can sign up to Term Explorer and try it out. They have an option to check 10,000 keywords at a time. However, it might be too expensive for what you're looking for.

Clearly, there is a glitch on the website. I just hope you saved all the other words that you manually thought of. That is really hard knowing that there is just so much work waiting for SEO fanatics.

Just wondering if anyone had the issue sorted on their end? I've found a couple of other people have started threads on G's help centre, but no fix as of yet. They've changed the keyword planner a bit but no mention of a new limit.
