What's your opinion on this? Will bitcoin die? Crypto isnt gonna die but will it lead to alt coins to rise?

Sounds like a good plan. Good luck in this journey OP! All the best!
can someone link me to the BST of blackhatworld bot which this guy is using? Thanks

nope if it really happen than all other crypto will also taken out. people will panic sell, and think crypto is dead.
As long crypto live, BTC will live, since BTC is used as comparison, like Usd in Forex

If BTC will die all other crypto will also go down, as BTC is the most famous. That would destroy crypto for a long time

Bitcoin will continue functioning for decades at least with almost 100% certainty, but another crypto could for sure supercede it in usage and importance.

The only problem with this is crypto will never been seen as a store of value again. If xyz coin comes along and takes over BTC then another coin will just do the same again to that one later down the line. It's BTC or nothing imo.

Bitcoin is a great tool and a front-runner for privacy in payments. So, it ain't dying until something better comes to replace it :)

Hope it lives long enough to exterminate Paypal though:smirk:

"Grandpa, tell me that funny story again of when people paid eachother with paper money" :)

That day will come.

A few months ago my little daughter pointed at a phone booth and asked me
what that thing was. I told her it was a phone, and she thought I was joking.

It will be a dark day when it happens. You'll be tracked to death and your money will be subject to the rules of whoever is "storing" it for you. Imagine waking up one day to find out your money has been held indefinitely like PayPal does, without having the possibility to have cash as a backup.

Non-physical money can be extremely useful but it should always be optional.

I think you're mixing up what being a "store of value" means with Bitcoin having to remain as the world's reserve crypto. Eg, a stablecoin could grow to be used widely throughout the internet for payments, and offline for things like people receiving their wages. Bitcoin could continue to be used as one of the primary ways that people enter the cryptocurrency market, and also as the primary cryptoasset for market speculation.

Because the potential for global online trade outside of the cryptocurrency market is multiples and multiples larger than crypto trading will ever be, the stablecoin not only has a larger volume of trade per day (like Tether already does now) but also then has a larger marketcap as well.

This doesn't mean that Bitcoin all of a sudden wouldn't be considered a store of value, but just that it would no longer be the largest cryptocurrency in the world by marketcap and importance.

Bitcoin is the number one coin and it is not going anywhere from what I have seen so far.

Bitcoin is here to stay. All other coins may pass away but BTC is here to stay:):)

So you think whichever coin is considered a store of value wont necessarily have the highest market cap? I don't think people will use Tether as a store of value.

There's arguments for and against Bitcoin being a store of value, for example, with most classical economists saying that it isn't, but this is really depending on whether you're considering the micro-fluctuations of the price of Bitcoin over weeks and months, or the macro-trend over the longterm of years. It's hard to argue that over the course of any randomly-selected 4-yr period that Bitcoin isn't a store of value and that won't store value with a very high probability.

This is true with many other cryptocurrencies as well, and while there's for sure a correlation between price-reliability and marketcap, what's a better predictor is actually age. Older cryptocurrencies (at this point in time) are more easily identified as price-positive, and therefore above price-stable, over the longterm, (and so can be argued to be good stores of value).

It means that the market places a solid amount of weight behind the longevity of a cryptocurrency when it comes to future predictions of price, and this weight is actually over-representative compared to what it actually means in a practical sense. ie. You don't need to have created a cryptocurrency in 2013 in order for it to be more likely to hold its value, and conversely that a cryptocurrency created yesterday won't necessarily be outperformed by even Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum in this sense.

I don't think people will use Tether as a store of value.
People already are though, in fact that's exactly the reason that the most traded cryptocurrency in the world today is Tether. Not to generate profit, but to act as a proxy store of value without there being a fluid/free way to move cryptocurrencies to "real world" money, like USD, which is what most everyone is measuring their success and failure in cryptoasset trading against, because that's how they and anyone else will ultimately reap the rewards from trading - buying real shit with real money in the real world.

At some point the real world won't be USD or EUR, and we'll be able to buy 70% of everything we can now with (insert cryptocurrency) - so Tether and other fiat-pegged stablecoins will be largely obselete. This is why I think that while Tether is popular today, reality will catch up with them in the coming years, as being able to maintain your trading wealth in comparison to USD/other fiats won't be relevant anymore.

Tether is for sure already a store of value, more so that Bitcoin or other speculative cryptos obviously, and it's actually the only reason that Bitfinex have made the pretty outrageous amounts of revenue that they have from Tether up until now.

At the beginning of this Coronavirus pandemic people were saying that crypto will die. A lot of people were saying that when BTC has hit 3K that it will go down to zero, but BTC, as always, came back and is now sitting at around 7k. I'm just sad that I was too scared to buy it when it was 3k because I invested 5k at the beginning of this year.. A mistake I won't allow myself to repeat again

How much cash you keep in pocket in percentage of what you have in total ?
