yes nearly all big accounts have gained tons of followers too like arianagrande 1,9 million selenagomez 1,4 million justinbieber 3,1 million etc.
myself i gained about 5k new ones (within a 5minute span) and my friends about the same. I also think this has to do with them reactivating old accounts.

I think some child was given access to instagram and he's doing whatever he wants lol
yesterday instagram was following an account with three pictures of drunk people...about a month ago they followed an account that has posted some nonsense approximately 1-1.5 years ago and that's it

If they reactivated old "maybe not used ghost accounts" then the numbers are not your friend.
I gained about 100-200 on my 70k acc and im very happy with that, it would indicate that I did not have that much ghost followers earlier when they cleaned the insta platform a few months ago, I mean, if these numbers where genuine you would absolutely notice an increased traffic rate/likes/comments today.

Came here to check on this. I woke up to over 1,000 new followers.
Strange thing though, I had a lot more FOLLOWS too. And my follow count keeps rising slowly throughout the day today. FL is not following either. (Nor are any other bots.)
