7878 Method Executed (100 Letters)

Well done for doing what most fail to do!

I'm interested in knowing what you said to make the jingle bells relevant?

The one I use the most is a poker chip, I write 'When you're ready to cash in your chip, give me a call.'

haha nice one man ... I like your idea. I will probably use the same trick.. Thanks !

Quick Update: photo.jpg

  • Added Confidential Stamp

  • + had to pay an extra .20 cents per letter because my jingle ball was too big.. so it cant pass through the machine (poop) So had to add the George washing .20 stamp.
  • First Lesson*: Make sure you use something thinner than 4 cm ($20 lesson) literally cost me $20 to learn this lesson as that's how much the stamps were. You guys are welcome! just saved you $20 lol!

  • BUT: Considering the cheap cost of the jingle balls $0.04 per letter + the $0.20 per letter because of the jingle balls, we are still at $0.24 per letter, which is really good for stuffing. Some people spend as much as $1.00 per stuffing item and its still worth it. So for the size and sound we are still good...maybe, We will see from the tests.

  • They are all SENT now.
  • Next step, After hours Voicemail (callfire)

I sold a company like 9 months ago using that kind of marketing after being inspired reading the thread from 7878.The issue is which i personly see is many people are trying the exect method without their real own twist.Myself i targeted an small niche but which make a lot of money and specialized my offer to that niche.Seo is not the only product you can use and some niches are way more lucrative and easier than seo.

Well I actually did it for ORM, not SEO, and I did my do diligence making sure the letter was well scripted for the business I was going after... as a matter of fact I had a Spinner type system setup so that I could change out the target words " Restraunt" , " Law Office" etc etc.

Thanks man, gives me strength to keep pushing forward.

Did you copy the 7878 Letter word by word there? And did you copy my thread title, too?

Good luck anyway, atleast you got started.

Copied your Thread title for sure, ( was late at night when I was writing it, wasnt feeling creative) Probably would have copied your whole letter given the chance. But no I did do it rather close to 7878's but I did change a few things, added a little flare. Ill take that " At least" comment as an actual wish for luck rather then a put down on my attempts :)

OP, (clapping for you) I would also add try putting on the envelopes a stamp like "Owner response needed" or something else like Netmoney1 did with having different color envelopes. Also, this might sound real crazy but try this, if you know someone that does own a business, lets say a friend of the family etc. Just send it to them, don't say a word and then ask them about it. This way, you can get a realistic response from someone that happens to own a business and also a person that can give you constructive criticism if needed.
Interesting Idea, I did put a "Confidential" stamp just before I sent them out.

I said when your Ready to fix this give me a "jingle" (xxx) xxx-xxx. The poker chip is a cool idea, keep postage cost down too.

Good work, looking forward to updates!
Thanks, ill let you guys know the response Wednesday evening.

Ok So the letters were received this morning, I got my first callback.

Here is a question to the experienced... what is your tactic for online interest to meeting, most want to know a price right there and then... Give me some ideas to try and lengthen the process out so I can get a meeting.

You need to create a standard phone sales text (sales funnel) where the customer have no possibility to say no.After x question with answering yes you, ask him if he wants to meet in x days or on a specific date.Don't give him the chance to use the answer no.Just in a way where both answers are always positiv. This way your customers answer will be on 95% always positiv

To be honest I wouldn't have a script per se although you should have a direction to which you are heading and incorporate some things from a script.

I have people calling me each week and you can more or less tell straight away who is just after a price and who wants a solution and a discussion.

I rarely get any business from the price enquirers (price of everything / value of nothing etc etc). The person calling may have absolutely no authority but has just been told by their boss to get some prices. They also not care.

Where I do get business is from people that I can open up a dialogue with. The simplest way to do this is to ask questions and take a GENUINE interest in their business.

- what prompted your call (they must have been thinking of it and then your letter arrived)
- what don't you like about your site
- what would you like the new site to be
- where are you in Google? where do you want to be

I could go on and on. Have a conversation, BE LIKED - then an appointment will be natural. People don't like being sold to - they have their thoughts and ideas and they want them heard, considered and implemented.

Just accept that not every call will convert.

any update? ....................................

I love this idea! i own a small business and i can tell you we get bombarded with industry specific mailings the ones i toss out are the generic looking "you know is something you dont need" envelopes. My only suggestion would be from my stand point is to use mail merge to create a professonial looking evelope and put that stamp on it... between that your bell and the stamp im sure you will get alot more calls.

Explain to them, that every client is unique, because no one gets the same amount of work. Excuse me im tired, late night, so I might sound blunt. But anyway, if every customer got the same treatment, then others could learn this, and provide the service to everyone. Soon the market would be flooded with people who can. You make every customer go through a process, so you can determine your exact strategy, and thus not having to play a guessing game or shooting in the dark.

Please let us know how this is going for you. Hopefully you've been crazy busy with new clients. Can't wait to hear your progress!

Let us know how it goes OP, I'm so ready to execute this method as well. Fingers crossed for you OP. I'm excited hah.

Grrr another journey like 90% of them that just died.... or i hope OP is sooo busy with clients that he can't come online :D
