If you haven't noticed, in the last 72 hours Facebook has changed it's strategy for linking profiles to appropriate pages. Facebook has started putting their community pages in front of fan pages in searches and profile linking. Several pages of mine with members and no competition have been replaced with Facebook's Community Pages on their services. If you haven't figured it out by now, Facebook has scraped Wikipedia and created several pre-filled pages with the content. To keep things even closer to it's chest, it's relying on this 'community' page to result in larger page views and more time on Facebook - part of it's new strategy. Another change you might have noticed is you can no longer 'easily' scrape fan pages for fans to later add. This is a two way street. Your lists are protected, but your competitors or targets are not. What does this mean? It means pages related to generic keywords will most likely be soaked up in this Wikipedia/Service grab. Secondly, 'out ranking' the competition for the viral traffic will become less effective. Thirdly, Facebook profiles are even more valuable in their ability to retain and invite users. You will have to start scraping fake profiles of services. Groups have also remained a good breeding ground for populated lists. Requests are King. It's slow, it's targeted, but it works. In my testing I've been able to hit around 45-60 requests a day on non-PVA accounts that have aged. These requests have been tested on timers that go throughout a 24 hour period. Proxies. Use them. Right now I'm linking 5 accounts per IP address. Remember, Coffee Shops and especially colleges have higher counts for this and the collateral damage may prevent Facebook from doing IP bands. It's war driving, but newbies don't have money for proxies. Things are moving quickly, let's share notes.
