How fake was it though? If it didn't contain a long enough random string, it could easily belong to someone real and databases can contain fake addresses too, so it doesn't really prove anything. If the address wasn't random enough, it can easily get a match in a database with 4.7 billion entries.

No solution. Data breaches happen no matter what. Don't re-use passwords between sites, that's the best you can do. If you're on any of the lists and you haven't yet, change your email password and any site password, where you used the same email address and password combo.
Don't ever buy such lists, not just because it's not too legal, but most of these are freely available even on the clear web. I don't want to promote any forums, but there's one which is dedicated to leaks. If you can put one and two together, you'll be able to find it. Maybe this leak is not there (yet), but it was using data from previous leaks and i saw big ones floating around there, like the Patreon, Adobe, 000webhost, Snapchat and the two big adult leaks (AFF, AM).
Yea, by now the place i was referring to removed a lot of their content including this, i guess because they had to. Others are either paid or as you said, you need to use credits, what you can get, if you share something.
