63% of Instagram users are miserable

I mean, lets say you're already not feeling well, and then you go on IG and you see your friends doing well, and you follow hot IG models... You probably would feel even shittier.

Although, there's nothing in it to feel bad about and its more to cherish in it but the dark side is it still does happen

of course, it is a platform that spreads envy and FOMO, and makes you feel small.

BUT FUCK IT IF I CAN MAKE SOME $$$ :D

Looking at this from a standpoint of Monetization.. How could we take advantage of these users to make money

1. Target users with certain words in their bio, such as ones with sorority names. We can then target them with either DM's about body improvement or somehow have them funneled to the Instagram and thus the link. Taking advantage of their self-hate about themselves and trying to be accepting about the fact(the fact we made) of buying our product will help their insecurities.

2. User who show signs of depression follow certain accounts, such as motivation, and will post with certain words in their captions. Target those people with something that can guarantee the happiness their life will receive upon buying that item

Of course, there are more suggestions and ideas. This is merely scratching the surface. It is about finding ways to make money from everyone, and lets be honest that emotion is the best marketing tool... :)

I'm miserable.
It makes me sad seeing people having what i don't have, doing what i will probably never do and being with people that i will probably never meet.

It's not IG fault

it's all because of me:(

63% of Instagram users make no money from it and hence the sadness.

Through Instagram people showcase their highlights, but behind the scenes life plays out very different.
I think social media will be a big downfall towards the younger generation, the constant comparing oneself towards other, and being exposed to softporn 24/7 will result in a skewed conception of the world.

There are already a lot of studies that mental health problems has arisen a lot in comparison to previous years. And I do not believe there is an end in sight.

That's IG for 99% of the people. We are the 0.01% and we sell them stuff.

Depends on what you use Instagram for.

If you compare your life with pics on insta, you are bound to be miserable. Use it as creative outlet and the possibilities are limitless.

James Cameron's completely immersive spectacle "Avatar" may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora.

On the fan forum site "Avatar Forums," a topic thread entitled "Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible," has received more than 1,000 posts from people experiencing depression and
fans trying to help them cope.

The topic became so popular last month that forum administrator Philippe Baghdassarian had to create a second thread so people could continue to post their confused feelings about the movie.
