Wonderful post, thanks a lot! I am in the process of moving my .net site to a .org one and badly needed SEO tips. Thanks again :)

Thanks for tips, i read lots of post to increase traffic and also applied it on my website, but still lacking in ranking and traffic, do you have any solution for that?,

Thank you so much dude,
and I hope all SEO gurus will keep expanding this topic

Thank you for the information. I will make sure to use it.

here are plenty of designers here on BHW that will do an infographic for $100 - $150?

So first off, GREAT READ! This is very informative. However, I have some questions. To start out, I have been working on one main site and one e-commerce site for an architecture firm to which I am starting SEO work. I have both sites linked in for google analytics and webmaster tools and Alexa ranking to check on that. I also use Serpfox for a few keywords I'm trying to rank for as well as reading in these forums for any extra info I can add. The past few months traffic has been around 1.5k visitors and my bounce rate has been around 55% steady. Now my problems are that I'm having trouble gaining placement for certain keywords and having trouble placing higher then my competitors as well as lowering my bounce rate and driving traffic up. What else can I do (before paying for ads AKA PPV/PPC) that can help me gain traffic and lower my bounce rate as well as rank these handful of keywords higher?

Thanks for the tips OP.
I will take action with point 5 and 6.
I am still a newbie on SEO so I hope to add some pointers as I read and implement the techniques.

Awesome tips man!
Great point you have about PPC campaigns and keywords they use. Why spending huge-ish money on a research carried out by rich companies if you can track their results for free!)))
However, simply Googling for them isn't the best approach for you can miss something important.
In getting my clients additional boost in SEO I'd add these in description as well as use them as anchors and manage interlinking (luckily good content is hard to find these days http://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/content-copywriting.194/ :)

Additionally I'd look what Google users are searching for with the query of my interest. So if we're selling laptops or our article is about laptops I'd first check what questions people are googling for:

and add them to description as well
