it's like those people who claim they do 6 figures a month, only that they forget to mention 95% of that goes on advertising 
No twitter whoring, it is plain twitter marketing but I do it with little twist. Let me share it here -
1. I created an account there
2. I started following up people who were tweeting on my niche
3. I got couple of followers and instead of spamming my followers with offers, I started tweeting about anything.
4. I repeated this method and got followers very quickly.
5. Honestly I told my followers that I run a website and would like them to look at it atleast once
6. I make 10 tweets a day ( interesting ones and sometimes with jokes ) and 1 tweet about my website
7. It worked and by the way I only have 45 followers as of now.

Congratulations...and everyone in this thread should take note that it's not blind following of people on Twitter that makes money. You must look for targeted followers only. Make sure your blogs autopost to Twitter via Twitterfeed and then setup some automated posts via SocialOomph with no url's in the tweets.
