Got 5k in startup money, what should I do with it? Open to suggestions.

I would take half of that and put up and then only work with part of it. make a game plan before you start spending anything and then stick to it.
 
Go to Flippa, find sites that have proof of earnings that have just been sold. Narrow down using filters. Check the sites in Ahrefs to see what they are ranking for and how they are getting their backlinks. Gather a list of target keywords from this, as well as seeing which of their links you can use to link as well. Now it's time to steal their niche and do what they do, just better.

Find one of these services in the marketplace that creates an affiliate site for you (like services provided by @ZlatanTheGod or @Jayder). See if they offer discounts if you provide the keywords. Buy a domain and some fast hosting, set up an SSL, and install Wordpress. At this point you should be in for about $400, maybe. Send that service over the login details, and while the site is being made, do the following:
  • Go to the Knowem alternative offered by @BuildMoreLinks and get their largest package to secure your website name in as many social profiles as possible ($20).
  • Find a solid and affordable content writer to write you at least 40,000 words of content on your niche to start. Use the keywords and articles your competitor has as a starting point. Assuming you find someone for $3 or so per 100, that's $1,200 right there.
  • Buy @back2form's list of guest blogs offering guest posts ($35 I think).
  • Hire a virtual assistant on a task basis for 40 hours or so total like @dhia27 or @payal23j: $160
  • Have the VA gather a bunch of relevant imagery for your products and services, create a spreadsheet with product details if you are starting an Amazon affiliate site (assuming here), and have them perform their own manual outreach to the blogs in your niche from the guest blog list purchased above.
Once your site is up and live and the content is added in and Amazon links included, make the site live and start growing larger social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc). Have the same VA begin building high quality links to the list of links grabbed in the Ahrefs scrape. Do the same with competitor sites as well. Get a ton of them, and slowly start adding. High quality is best. Let's assume this is a project that takes a total of 50 more hours, so another $200.

Spend another $500 on relevant posts from guest blogs. Write these yourself if your English is up to par. If not, grab a few of the articles provided from the article provider and use those. This takes you to $2,500.

Use the remaining money for more articles to be written, some high quality SEO packages from here, further manual outreach, outsourcing of social media automation, and advertising as needed.

How long would it take to earn a profit from this? Or at least break even?

If you're doing dropshipping why don't you scale it up? Lot of money to be made there.

That is completely dependent on how much time and effort you put into it, and what the product cost is of what you are peddling. There are some very solid journeys here that are a great walkthrough of the process. @WebMinati and @LuckyCharm007 are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. They are already both experiencing success with theirs, following a similar model for an Amazon affiliate site (although I think @WebMinati has multiple revenue and ad streams).

I suggest giving those a read.
 
Invest in your education, buy some books, go to a conference. At least get some ideas worth pursuing.
 
I think most of the businesses which are often recommended on black hat world can be easily started with this much money

A long time ago in a galaxy far away I was chilling with my buddy in Vegas and the old Circus Casino was still open. We played roulette one night and made around 2k doing what you just stated. We got shit faced drunk and it was a great night

Solid advice. KW choice will determine whether its money down the toilet or not though.
