Can you no longer use the "Send an Update" function once your page reaches 5,000 fans?

Mine still has that function and its above 5k fans.

Anyone else?

Also, SmileAtMysins could you please test that function out? I have had someone test that out and I did not receive their update, it seems that the link is there, but it simply does not work past 5k fans.

Groups can't send messages once they are over 5k members. Updates are not messages, so this is a different story if you're speaking about fan pages. I've never heard of anything like this; in fact, the "Send an update" link is present in my fan pages > 5k fans. If I test it out I'll let you know.

I mean messages as in sending a message to all of your fan's inboxs.

You can send updates with > 5k fans fan pages.
You can't send messages with > 5k members groups.

You can send updates. Updates differ from messages by the fact that when the user receive a message he gets a notification, while doesn't if he receives an update.

sending messages is much worse, i would stick to posting updates, and he wouldn't get a notification
