I have been growing an art account on Instagram.
I am now over 50k followers.
In the past I tried to set up a t-shirt business that was associated with the niche of the page.
It didn't work out, big headaches with the t-shirt printing company etc.
I have pretty decent engagement and the page is slowly growing.
I want to monetize the page, but do not seem to be making the right decisions so far.
If this was your page what would you do?
My username is Mysterykidx.
I have thought of creating an Etsy shop and buying products via wholesale from Aliexpress with the Instagram stories generate traffic to the store.
Before I make any move, I decided to create this post to hear your opinion.

Honestly, I'm waiting for 100k (no where close atm) before I do anything like that. Did you try doing a Teespring campaign? I feel like that would be a lot easier, as long as you could get a good T-Shirt design.

Your stuff is all over the place. Checked your socialblade stats. Why are you even still F/UF at this stage of the game? You are not pulling in potential customers.

In terms of monetization. DO you expect to use other people's images in your products(t-shirts)? That wont fly with the original content creators.

It is one thing to repost another person's content, it becomes dangerous when you want to use it to sell. I can see issues with this model..

Very nice mate!

I like the poetry and in combination with the pictures; the quality is good.

Just of the top of the head here are some Ideas I'm getting maybe something will inspire you:
You can start an email list and deliver daily short poems via email.
Keep track of all these poems and collect them all into one shortbook, something like "daily poems" or "30 days of poetry" or "365 days of poetry", etc.
Which you can use as a low-entry product, something you can sell on Amazon for example for 2.99. And include a link in it to your email list to build it up even more.

Having 3-6 products/types of products + this email list would be gold.
Some examples:
A sleek/unqiue poetry journal (something people can write in) for around $10-20.
A how to write poetry guide for around $25-40.
A combination of the above. A guide/journal in 1. With guided writing exercises or something. For around $50-75.
You can also do Canvas prints. You can JV with artist on Deviantart or Instagram and try to collab and make art x poetry canvas prints which you can sell for high prices, $100+.

It's pretty much a value ladder model:

P.S. You can also use this list to get more supporters on Patreon.

Or... you can just sell shoutouts :p
