500 hops, no sale, WTF with CB?

myapps43 makes an extremely important point for people who are new(er) to CB.

Gravity is a relative number and needs to be considered with many other things. Especially IM products that just had a big or somewhat big launch. The calculation is derived by number of unique affiliates making a sale - so if lots of people are making sales, the big question is how many are promoting. Gravity number as a stand along "analysis" is not too helpful.

Ok I just want to know is it possible that they are not counting my sales bcz i m masking their links. I need some one who having good experience in clickbank point me in good direction.

Cloaking links in script or with redirects is not a problem. And CB doesn't shave or withhold conversions.

You may be promoting a product that doesn't convert well. Or you're pushing traffic that doesn't convert well. Or you're promoting to a small, incestuous traffic base that is burned up. Or your links are not working.

Nothing you can do about #1. Everything else is reasonably within your control. Start testing... because anyone who claims to know the answer without having more information is just guessing.

In your ClickBank analytics are your hops registering? If so, are you getting order form impressions?

Does the product you're promoting have a $1 trial? IIRC, those don't show as sales until the trial period expires and the product is billed. They would still show up in your transactions... just not in your analytics. And your daily sales will also show $0.

Outside of that, I've got to agree with you that those are some crazy stats. Is your ranking domain explicitly tied to the product you're promoting? Or is it tied to a niche search term?

If it's the latter then I can show you a quick trick to rotate the offer that you send your visitors to. That way you can rotate a few different vendors on that backend and see which offer converts the best.

Yes that product have $1 trial, and also my domain is product name domain, I can see my website in 5th position, and i am ranking with other keywords as well Product Review, Product scam ...blah blah. i got 1300 + hops this week with no sale, just made one rebill amount, actually at first week i made $400 from 300 hops when product launch.. now everything seem stuck in CB. Do i send them email regarding this? you can see in first week i got good sales, after that it drops, even i m on first page.. And i made $29 today it's just rebill amount.

two quick thoughts:

1) for me at least, clickbank does appear to do a bad job of filtering spider hits. Especially when I'm doing some work through twitter / facebook in places that get heavily spidered, I get stupidly wrong hit numbers to both clickbank and amazon. 500 with nothing does seam high however.

2) Many big(er) IM launches hit insanely high gravities because just about everyone purchasing it is "in" on the affiliate game and purchases under their own link.

Remember that gravity is a measure of number of different affiliates that have sold the program - not total sales.

Therefore if there's a gravity of 1000, sometimes that's because 1000 different people bought it under their own link.

If you are really masking afflink or redirect, then that is not a problem, sales will still count.

However, CS is another matter where you load your Ckie when people visit your site so that you get credit for the sales even though your visitors never click on your aff link, masked or otherwise. (MOD: I know I am not suppose to discuss this in public, please remove if inappropriate)

From the look of it, I am almost sure that this is what is happening. What happened is that hops will count but sales will not register for that particular product. However, rebills will have no problems and you will make sales from other products not affected by this.

I know this phenomenon pretty well ... :cool:

Removing the CS may not see a return in sales for the particular product in question but other products shouldn't have any problems and your current account should be safe. However, setting up a new account and stop doing CS is the best option for now.

In my experience it's all about the targets. I've never made a sale with my website (started in the IM niche, not a good idea) But I've had luck just posting on forums with 2 other niches. Hop around and see what converts, if you've made that much already registering a new domain name and repeating your current methods for another niche should be cake.

I find that sometimes we know exactly what we have to do in order to succeed-- we just fool ourselves into feigning ignorance because we'd have to take action in order to work around a certain problem.
 
I generally keep myself to gravities between 50-150. My best promotion has 800+ hops, 188 orderform impressions and a conversion of 14.89% in total.

There is nothing wrong with CB.
 
Is Cb on its way out...Who buys PDF and software sold on there anymore? Especially with so many people getting scammed with one of those make thousands per month on autopilot bull sh*t?
 
ive had a couple thousand hops the last couple months and not a single sale, so i decided to buy from myself just to test it and it credited me immidiately and i got paid. i dont know what the deal is, all my hops know what the site is about before they get there - i just cant seem to convert with my cb's at this time.
 
A few things:

1. Clickbank does not shave, or at least has not shaved in any experience I've had. When comparing Clickbank and analytics tracking of traffic, things match up pretty well, and that includes the fulfillment page. As such, no, Clickbank doesn't shave. I thought they did at one time, but my form of marketing just wasn't working.

2. SEO doesn't always mean targeted to that niche. Moreover, other factors might come into the targeting that can work against you.

3. The 1000 gravity simply means a lot of different CBIDs have made affiliate sales with this, but that doesn't mean anything either. Gravity can be manipulated, and is manipulated, by a lot of people.

4. The IM niche is competitive as hell. As such, you're traffic isn't as valuable, because that traffic has probably seen the same offer elsewhere, given that competition.

All in all, your numbers are indeed a little low, but not absurdly so, for the niche.

On any other forum I would agree with your post and move along, but this is a forum that I truly share everything with. Clickbank is absolutely not dead, and I don't want any newb who reads your post to think it is.
 
I make thousands per month on autopilot with Clickbank.

Then again, if it's bullshit, maybe I shouldn't tell anyone.
