I am doing RnR. I used to get into cannabalization issues with multi page website. I saw someone ranking a one pager as lead gen. So inspired from that i started my own lead gen website.
Its been like 2 months now and my website just dances between 3 and 4th page. Previously, my lead gens would rank within a month but they were low search vol kws. Evev, this time i targeted a comparatively high sv kw but the competition was kinda low.

I wanted my website to be lean and fast loading. Images are super optimized and everything looks great.

I am contemplating about sending some pbns. But just making sure whether i am missing something?

Website keeps bouncing #38-#28 is normal, You can try to build some quality backlink to move from older page 1st page.
Check what type of backlink build by your competitor.

It sounds like you're on the right track with optimization, but ranking can still be tough even with low competition. Before using PBNS, double-check your on-page SEO (title tags, headers, content), internal linking, and the overall user experience on your site. Also, mix up your backlink strategy with other sources like guest posts. If competitors have strong backlinks, that could be a factor. Testing PBNS on a small scale first might be a safer way to see how they impact your rankings.

your domain might be too weak (in which case backlinks can help), or your page might be lacking content or important stuff. With lead generation pages google is probably looking to see elements specific to this type of website, such as...

- CTAs (get a quote, submit request, etc)
- physical address (especially important if your page is about offline services) and other contact details (email, map, phone numbers, etc)
- endorsed / used by (logos of big / popular brands in your niche that are supposedly using your services)
- testimonials (I think this is still a very important element of lead gen pages)

Anyway, check the lander of the guy that's ranking up top, for elements that he's having on his page that you don't have on your page, and put those same things on your page, then have google recrawl the page...

If this doesn't help (and if you do have enough content on your lander), I think the only other explanation is that you're using a fresh domain that lacks authority, in which case you do need to up its DR to at least match the DR of the guy that's ranking up top.

And if the authority / backlinks are not the issue, something else I can think of is that the other guy is using expired domain while you're not and - for whatever reason - google might prefer / trust his domain over yours, in which case you still need to get backlinks so you can up the DR of your lander, but you probably need to wait for months (or even for 1 year or more) before google decides to rank you...

Maybe try adding some hyper-relevant content and internal links to boost topical authority before you go the PBN route. What's your on-page SEO looking like?
