What are your goals with this twitter? Popular stuff you can tweet as much as you like, if people don't like it they can unfollow but you'll gain more than you lose.
I'd try and tweet more than 5 times a day.

More then 5 times seems spammy ? Anybody got any fact on this. So maybe 5 real tweets spread troughout the day (trough a program) and replying a few times or retweeting ?.
It's not a niche it's me buidling up an audience for a hip hop mixtape (mixtape = promotional free album so to say) I plan on putting up in a few months.

With so many tweets coming in, I don't 5 would looks spammy. Unless what you are tweeting looks repetitive.

im some niches i've sent over 300 tweets per day, and i count my followers per thousands in those accounts. So i really depends on what you are tweeting about, if the tweet includes or no urls, pics... and of course the niche. Each message is relevant and all this factors need to be taken in consideration. I don't think anyone is tweeting 10 times/day lately. The competition is hard and you need to stand out, try to increase the numbers without compromising the quality of them (again it strongly depends on the niche). Hope that helps.
P.S.: for the copy pasted text (here in BHW) there's a button on the format tool bar its a couple of A's with a red "X" (second button from left to right) its called remove format... very useful ;-)
