SOLVED


Hi,

Recently my server has been acting strange in that when I add an add-on domain to my account, after visting the url it repeats itself as a directory. For example, the domain:
http://example.com/
redirects to:
http://www.example.com/example.com/
every time. In addition, when I type without the www. it automatically adds the www. along with the repeated domain!

I don't know what to do, but I assume it must be an issue with my server's set up?

post your .htaccess or pm me with the content of that file, i might be able to help. Also, what are you trying to do exactly? (might help looking thought the file)

delete your .htaccess and see what happens

Doh! You guys were right, such a simple answer, but I didn't think I would have to delete my root domain's .htaccess as it was a WP site. Katarina explicity said it, so sorry xbox but I have to give to her.

I'm thanking xboxps2wow for his/her willingness to try to find the specific cause of the issue and THEN to help out with it.

I just got kicked in the b*tt for my willingness to find a "specific cause" when I was actually trying to help - that's why and how I know the guy/girl above should be thanked

No problem, I've tons of problems with .htaccess files in few of my wp blogs, so was worth a try
