Before you renew the domain next year for $35 - transfer it to namecheap and pay only the xfer fee - 8 bucks? + you'll get free whoisguard.
just make sure that your domain is NOT set to auto renew on register.com, and keep an eye on the 1 year mark. i think you can only xfer within 20 .. 18 .. 30? (not sure of the exact #) days from the expiration of a domain.

Why didn't you posted 3 hours ago...I bought .us domain from godaddy for 9.99 bucks!!

I'd be transferring a couple of domains a day if I went down that road.
Rather have them all in one place, one biller saves time and money in
the long run.
