$5 A day with 2 idle computers?

Hello! So I'm still fairly new to IM and have been still working towards my full goal with instagram/ogads. (Currently at around $10 a day and my goal is $20 a day)

But in my office at work, I have 3 computers, one which I use, and two which are unused. I'm curious to know if there are any spicy ways to earn with an idle computer? I've read up on some things like slicify but almost all of them are not in service anymore. Considering I work 9 - 5, that's a good lump some of hours these idle computers can work. (Even maybe overnight if I can get into the office first in the morning as well)

I just am at a bit of a loss here and don't want to waste possible earning potential from these decent computers. Also! Is mining digital currency worth it if I was to have two computers constantly running? Everyone believes digital currency is dead but I'd like to hear it for myself and not from random searching.

(To be honest, I'd be glad to earn even 3 dollars a day from these idle computers, any extra income is a win in my opinion)

Mine crypto currencies. My cpu isn't that strong (3.4ghz / quad core). I was learning to mine some alt-coin my crypto friend was telling me about. Apparently people mine those smaller coins, then exchange for bitcoin.Then trade that for USD.
Long story short, I ran it to utilize 60% of my cpu for the day and made a dollar or so. Not worth my cpu resource so I stopped it. But multiply that by 3 computers and you can might earn $5 a day doing nothing.

Here's quick guide for anyone interested
Code: 
1. install copay on your phone.
2. create a wallet on copay
3. copy your wallet ID
4. download the miner
5. create a new .bat file inside the miner directory
6. edit it to say "nheqminer.exe -l usa -u <Your Wallet ID> -p x -od 0 -t 4"
6a. Change the -t flag to increase/decrease cpu usage (0-7)
6b. run the bat file you just created
7.  visit https://www.nicehash.com/?p=miners&addr=<your wallet id> to monitor it

I don't know how well those work. If you run so much your computer will die quickly. And you'll probably use more electricity then money made
 
Crypto mining isn't worth it now.

Just use Hitleap or an Addmefast bots, keep them running then sell the points/accounts on fiverr or SEOclerks.
 
Well I'm looking for a purely "no need to look" solution to this. I just want to be able to leave it on and proceed to do my actual work. I'll look into crypto mining even though it isnt worth simply because it seems like I don't have to baby sit it much or check on it often or physically tamper with it. I wish there was just something that would give me like 1 cent per minute for running an idle computer

I agree this is very 'no need to look' sort of thing. Leave the computers running. Money gets automatically deposited in your account.

It's all hands-off until you want to convert it to usd. I haven't done it yet, but it looks like you just need to make an account on coinbase.com and hook it up to your copay account. Coinbase lets you convert from btc to usd easily with a few mouse clicks. Simple stuff.

I just looked up my miner stats and I made 0.00838416 btc ($5.93 Usd) in 48 non-consecutive hours of mining. Rough estimate translates to almost $90/month just for leaving my computer running.
Not much, but I know you're not expecting to get rich for doing nothing. If you're not paying the electricity bill in your office, even better.

Computers don't die from mining, it's like saying don't run scrapebox all day because it will die. Monitor your temperatures (free software called speedfan). 72*c is max for most intel cpu's and things will shut down automatically before any damage is caused. If it's running too hot, lower the thread count (step 6a). GPU's are a different story but max temperature limits are easily found with a google search. I don't have a gpu so can't comment on setting it up like that. Probably with adjusting the -od flag. The miner documentation page may help.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will do my research as that is definitely around my interests. And yes by no means do i expect to get rich off of it. Just want to make use of me sitting at my desk all day! I'll be happy to be making a little extra on top of my job and my ig/ogads journey.

Since you've already dipped your toes in IM, surely you must be aware that money doesn't just grow on trees.

If there was a zero expense way to keep a computer running all day and make $5 without doing anything, logically that would be 365 x 5 = $1,825 or $912.50 profit per computer per year. If that was the case, everyone would just be investing in computers to print money.

I realize cryptocurrency essentially makes that promise, but it's really not that simple.

Also, if the computers are owned by your employer I'd be careful how you decide to utilize them.

It takes effort just like anything in life. One could argue making money online is easy and everyone can do it. This forum has proven that countless times.
But we both know most people don't make any money online because reasons.

Are more people making money with crypto than IM? Who knows, who cares. A large amount of people are involved no doubt. It took me 10 minutes to set up everything up and start earning. It's just a simple method that takes minimal work, just hardware. Not owning the hardware or the electric bill eliminates 90% of the effort. Ethics are up to you.
And you're right. @Tatsumizu you better have an alibi as to why those computers are running if someone asks. You can always be a ninja and unplug any LED lights so they look off. The fan sound might give it away though.

hey man, im struggling to run the bat file its telling me "the system cannot find the file specified", this is what i have in the bat file, im pretty bad at writing stuff like this so can you let me know what i did wrong pls:, nheqminer.exe -l usa -u <my bitcoin address> -p x -od 0 -7 4 , im from the u.k if that makes a difference

He didn't say he wanted 0 effort mr high and mighty, just that he wanted a hands free method that wouldn't constantly need nursing.
 
Uhh, you could always install a Instagram bot on either of the two computers and run it all day. Save yourself some VPS expenses.
