Torrenting is a completely differen criminal offense, because you are seeding (uploading & sharing copyrighted content). When downloading from filehosters you're just leeching, which is not a big deal compared to seeding.
People have used it to share their illicit activities with other perverts. It's kind of like a poor man's version of a Cloud network.

yeah you're right, forgot about it. My country doesn't have any real punishment against torrenters so I don't truly mind. Maybe in countries like USA you can get slapped even for seeding while downloading. Anyway VPN costs around 3-5$ a month which is cheaper than buying all those bullshit accounts and everything is on torrents these days.
