Hello,
Video quality is having impact on SEO or it doesn't matter?

In my niche there is no difference if I have 8k, 4k or 1080 or even 720p, but I am wondering if it gives some difference for SEO

Apparently the higher the video quality, the higher will be its rank.

As I remember, it doesn't matter. But maybe YouTube changed again its algorithm regarding to this, idk.

I'd go witk 4k for 2 reasons:
1. Even if it doesn't matter now, it probably will matter in a few months / a year.
2. Editing. Shooting in 4k allows you to get up in the middle of shooting, and place youself in relativaly the same area by cropping the shot to make you fit better.

As long as the content is actually entertaining, I doubt there is any worry.

If you don't have 4k camera or monitor (if you screen record), you can upscale your videos with a tool like Topaz VEAI and you'll have a decent 4K version as well and won't need to worry, if you are missing out on any SEO juice or positive user feedback.

I don't think there's any difference but it will in the future so start putting things in 4k. I've started putting all of my videos in 1440p a couple of years ago now I'm leaning more towards 4k with some of my videos. I don't think ranking will help but it might and there are people who sort their searches for 4k videos so that'll give you some extra visibility and a leg up on your competition who's posting at 1080p.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now but if I were you as most viewers systems can only handle 720p and 1080p still at the moment but I would start putting my videos in either 1440p or 2160p a lot more and in a couple of years in 8k as I'm sure YouTube will add 8k by the middle of the decade.

1080 is okay, you don't have to go higher than this...focus on content quality

The resolution of your video should not DIRECTLY be an SEO factor, however, if you are looking for embeds or other natural BLs, then some industries actually prefer low/high res to distribute. Pay attention to your non-youtube sharing platform clients as well. Sometimes it is your market, sometimes the message, sometimes the platform. There are also platforms I have found that if you throw up a completely remastered 6k movie no one will care, but throw up even a FB pixel with a "4K UHD" title and everyone an their dog will come to take a look. Sometimes I take a step back and forget about the algos and ask... what would I do if this was a torrent?
