4g Mobile Proxy Port Forwarding Issue

Hi all,

Been searching through the forums and haven't been able to find a direct answer to my problem but if it does exist, sorry I couldn't find it!

So I successfully downloaded SquidMan and managed to get my residential IP working as a proxy server quite easily which was great.
Following the guides on this forum I bought a Huawei E5573c MIFI and bought the VOXI £10 endless social media sim card.
I pretty much copied the exact same steps which allowed my residential ip to work as a proxy server however these setting don't seem to work when I use the Huawei.

From what i've notified, the IP in the WAN Service section reflects a different public IP address to when I use a website such as yougetsignal.com.
The IP address on the router begins with a 10.X.XX.XXX, which is odd because it's completely different on the website checker.

Network Utility shows that the port I chose to open as open, but when I check using the same website it says its closed..
Anyone have any idea as to why this is? Is the ISP preventing the port forwarding from happening? If so is there a way around this? Or shall I get another sim card?

The 10.x IP is your LAN IP. This is an internal IP used by the server to communicate with your device.Your real external IP is the one displayed on check IP websites.

Make sure you do not have any default firewall rules enabled. Have you checked that?

I see, so if thats the LAN IP, is that where I should be forwarding the port entry? I have tried that but I was hit with an error stating it didn't recognise the address (invalid). Also that IP is situated right on the WAN Details section and labelled 'WAN IP'.

Also I have disabled the default firewall completely. I haven't touched anything regarding the DMZ or DCHP rules... Should I?

You must allow port forwarding in your ISP routers. Most likely you do not have access to it and will have to use VPN to connect remotely to that proxy.

Btw wondering voxi card is working in whole europe without any extra cost? Going to buy lol

I’ve enabled port forwarding via the Huawei router portal, is that what you referring to?
If not how could I use a VPN to access it?

ISP have their own routers where they set port forwarding

I had a feeling that was something to do with it! Thank you for the confirmation.
Do I need to contact the ISP (in this case Voxi is owned by vodafone so I assume it will be them) to set the port forwarding?
You mentioned that I could use a VPN to do that? How do I go around doing that? Any guides available?

Sorry for the million questions and thank you for helping, it's really appreciated.

I am personally using vpn + privoxy for this on my vps to be able using mobile proxies remotely. I guess you do not have any other option is they do not allow port forwarding. But try to contact them if they can allow it. I am curious I will be visiting UK in 2 weeks and I will probably go in their vodafone store and get like 20 SIMs lol.

I see, so does the VPN allow you to access the private nework via your VPS? That's something I'd need to do so I won't need to leave my laptop on so squid will work. I assume once you've access your private network via the VPN you use privoxy to activate the proxy server? Can this method work in my situation? Or is the ISP holding the IP make this impossible?

I am able to get my mobile ip from germany on vps in UK

Have you every had the issue I've encountered?
