41 month prison sentence for scraping emails

"Weev" may notoriously be a dick, but his conviction is completely asinine and he would off gotten off completely or a sentence less than a year if he wasn't such a fucking baby during the legal proceedings.

AT & T should be liable, he simply did a a increment in the GET request. zenoGlitch is right on the money.
 
If incrementing the number by one after "id=" in a query string is hacking, then everybody scraping google is also hacking when they increment "start=" by ten (or 100 as the case may be)
 
Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time...

Hacking a big player as AT&T is something completely different than the OP has in the title...
