41 month prison sentence for scraping emails

he hacked servers , i thinks its not the same for scrapping mate

most of the email scrappers will be shocked after reading this thread title.

Yeah he hacked into a server to gain access, he didn't scrape publicly available addresses from search engines. Which is what you were implying.

Said before but look up what scraping is then reread the article.

Of course, you should post the title, "Andrew 'Weev' Auernheimer Sentenced To Over 3 Years In Prison For Hacking AT&T Servers"

After Walgreens was hacked, my email was transformed to trash bag, I Encourage you guys, to work with BH Methods, but don't come on people pocked directly !
Also, did you remember the russian, ucranian guys who stole a couple hundred millions from USA residents, a couple year ago??? So, what now, just to forgive them cause they are simple blackhaters ??? ...

I just hope he does not drop the soap!

Fraud and theft are not blackhat, they are fraud and theft. Also they certainly have nothing to do with SEO or Internet Marketing. We don't condone anything illegal here (don't even mention c to the s), there is nothing unlawful about gaming Google's algorithms for a better ranking.

Interesting article.

40+ months in jail is no walk in the park, nearly half a decade of your life gone!

Don't drop the soap! Hah :)

Dude is a hacker. Wonder why hackers still live in US, it's like walking on the edge of the mountain. Should move somewhere like Russia and get the best of the life- hack US PCs and get safely cash from that.

They also included comments from one AT&T investigator who said Auernheimer "circumvented no security."

Curious what the dude did if he didn't bypass security.

Basically he took a url from at&t's api of his account which shows his email address, then incremented it 1 digit at a time which would show the next account. If anyone should be punished here it's AT&T for their fisher price "my first API"

Oh he hacked ! He didn't just "scraped". That's another ball game !!!
