Hi guys,

I am having to remove a lot of inner pages which will result in broken links for google...

Will the result (a lot of 404 pages on my site) cause a huge in my google rankings? Any other options here?

If you are using G Webmaster tools, just resubmit your sitemap. It should solve the problem.

yeah but i will still have some old pages showing up in google though wont i ?

Indeed, but it will dissapear. It takes time, though.
