    Hi guys!

Got a domain from a friend. About 4 months site was in down.

I did not have any back up so decided to make slightly different site about a month ago. Everything was great - quick index, good backlinks, every day update, google bot loves my site but got no rankings at all. I can find my site only with site: query.

Then i got account of webmaster tools from my friend and i saw that there are about 170 404 errors of non existed pages, that were made 5 months ago and are already deleted.

I deleted thoes pages in webmaster tools, and now their status is pending.

Did somebody have such experience with 404 errors? I think they definetely affect rankings very much.

How long it could take to wait for rankings?

Found the answer. Too long downtime will serioslu affect rankings. A bit patience is needed.
