£400 is a nice amount of money to start an online operation.

Start with something that you are good at. I suggest you keep aside a budget of £40 (10%) for testing. If you get proper returns, use the rest of the money to scale it up.

You could start a blog and target long tails with decent cpc, low competition. Google is cracking heavily on micro sites, so would be a perfect time to target long tails as a lot of crappy ExactKeywordMicroSites.Com's are getting penalized and deindexed.

    Here's how I would spend my first £40 -

$10 - hostgator hosting, $9 - Domain, $11 - 4 Articles and then I would building links and write some more articles myself. If you are using wordpress you could easily get some twitter traffic using twitter tools plugin. If returns are good, use the rest of the money to get some more articles, linkbuilding.

Build it up slowly, if you are good with Keyword research, SEO .... adsense money will follow.

Do a google search for secretcashblast. Check out the dieselmarketing blog result. Good blog with decent info that might help you out. Also, you can try clickbank. Good Luck.
