LSI refers to using words that are similar or in the same category as the the rest of the text on the page.

For example, if you're page is about jewelry you should include words like necklace, rings, pendants, bracelets etc. Search "ngrams" on this forum to read more about how Google spiders make use of these LSI connections.

Thanks for the contribution OP - I agree 5-20% keyword density is completely moronic. Repeating a long tail keyword (5-6 words) more than twice in an article is also moronic in my opinion.

what's with the 5-20% keyword density ? Is that serious.
Content needs to look as normal as possible. The more natural and rich content is the more respect it gets. Not some kind of keyword stuffed articles.

is this really accurate? i've seen many different rankings

I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I found it and thought I should share it.

Mentioning your source would be a good idea.
Certain of these factors I have to disagree with, or atleast lower the importance given to them.

I don't remember the source to be honest. It could be some other site or some tut I have.

I personally don't spend too much time worrying about keyword density. I've tried targeting between 3% and 6% religiously and just going with the flow and haven't seen a difference between the two.

Keyword Density 5-20%...... 5% maybe.... 20% is very much spam

If you are using wordpress, then go for a plugin which will automatically check all these. This checklist is old.. The things that needs alteration are
1) H1 tags not as important as it used to be
2) Keyword density should be between 2-4 and not more
3) Importance of domain age is less now.
4) Importance is given to your domain registration period, say google respects the owners who have registered the domain name for a longer period say 5-6 years as compared to the ones which is registered for a year. I am finding this more and more relevant now.
