4 Easy steps to creativity (Logo Design)

This could be a useful tip for those who are designers like, logo designers or if you are looking for a creative logo for your project. Also, can be used by anything who wishes to be creative.

If you are struggling to be creative or if you need to come up with a creative logo with in just few hours, you can try this method.

Mind Map
Draw a mind map. keep drawing arrows and writing whatever comes to your mind.

Ex - Let's say that I got to do a logo to the Fox Magazine.

I will keep writing down the words, Fox, Magazine, Newspaper, Article, Animal, 4 legs, furry animal, Fox head, Information, Reader.... (And the list goes on)

Highlight
Then I circle the words which I can make an icon through it. Like, Newspaper, Fox, Fox Head, Legs.

Merge
Then I pick 2 words at a time and think of ways to merge them. I try my best to keep a steady style and start drawing rough sketches.

Ex - Fox head - And a Newspaper.

A fox head popping outta a Magazine

And so on...

Design
I keep drawing as much as I can and Basically I end up coming up unique creative variations with in one hours.

After that, I higher a graphic designer to get the logo done.

I really liked the tips you gave and would definitely try these the next time I am designing.The key to a good logo is simplicity with grace. More elements make it look cramped. One more thing that helps is going through the mission statement of the company you are designing for to get a better idea about their background. It really helps in creating a unique design.

Seems like a good way to brainstorm ideas and employ some associative thinking. I also agree with what @Evan Grayson said about simplicity.
