i have a site with almost 900k pages indexed by google. i used to have about 4-5k unique per day. but all of a sudden during last week it start decreasing with about 1k per day. until it was nearly down to nothing. im clearly not banned by google since when i do a site:domain query it says there are about 900k results.

can someone please shed some light on what could have happened? i really dont get it.

Your Site is Hit by Google Panda's Shit.

Have you changed your page structure at all? Or URL destinations

any idea on how i can get unfucked by the google panda?

Try this:

Just add unique content from time to time.

and make backlinks from Web 2.0 properties.

Stop SB, AMR, Xrumer. stop it.

Just make backlinks from authority sites High PR with less OBL count.

have patience ..Wait for a week or two.

Also stop using alot of TAGS or LIMIT the use of search terms tagging 2.

you got 900k indexed pages ?? whats the sites name - mashable ? Even mashable has 759k only

Hey I think the same thing happened to me. I was not getting as much traffic as you though. But the drop has been drastic. I am going to install Google +1 and start trying to get some votes.

This is hard to judge, nobody can help you here, guys saying panda, dont listen, nobody can tell without seeing your webmaster tools.

Do you have some crawl errors, like 404 like content? did you make any major backlinks?

You will have to study your site real well on google webmaster, nobody can tell you what wrong with your site without seeing all the necessary stuff.

If you didnt get hit when panda shit was hot, then its not gonna be panda now.

Edit to add: I have a site that was ranking real well before, all of a sudden i couldnt rank a fly, why? after major diagnosis i found out have been getting soft error 404 like content, now have got to remove them all to get back to ranking, all you gotta do now is see what you've done different before your site went down.

thank you. that was a useful response.

well i have studied it quite a lot in the webmaster tools, i got 78k pages indexed there out of 100k submitted. and google has found then other 800k by visiting those sites. and there are no real crawl errors, 46 denied, 81 not found, and 100k restriced by robots (thats correct and been all along). i got 459 duplicate meta descriptions and 465 duplicate title tags. but that shouldnt matter much for such a large site. and google is still crawling the site as much as before. im gonna try and reduce the number of ads on the site to see if it lightens up.

His sites got 900k indexed pages.

with that many pages its a sort of penalty if site's ranking too low.

Google panda is the algorithm change, It would be till the next Google algo update.

OP is saying his traffic reduced from 4-5k to 1k first, So its kinda hit by the update(Google is always updating).

and Google algo hasnt changed YET.

So it will keep affecting.

im gonna go with the patience idea and give this some time.

meanwhile ive changed the google crawl rate from 8 requests per second to let google decided and removed some ads.

now ill just wait and see for a few weeks.
