Does anyone one know what is going on with 3fn.net? They have been offline for almost 24h. I tried to contact their staff via icq, but they don't respond. Sending e-mails is pointless, since their whole network seems to be down.

Safe to assume they are down for good. That's why I stay away from free hosting / start-up companys of any kind.

Please, bear in mind, that afaik 3fn has never offered any free services and that it has been in the hosting industry for a couple of years, so calling it a start-up company might be a little bit unfair.

They've been shut down hard. Now I know why Alex's Botmaster site has been down for the last couple of days. Here's another decent article about the FTC's complaint:

Kamikaza, what do you mean by CP?

I have read information on some Russian blog that 3fn will be moving to a new location and that it will be online in a several hours or days, but acutally a lot of time has passed and they still seem to be down. It's a shame, they used to be a very good hosting provider for not so white hat projects.
