Hello,

I have an old database of about 30000 customers related to perfumes (customers of perfume stores who have purchased something). The database was collected from newsletters, and its users are spread across Europe. Since I no longer work on this project, is it possible to use this database legally, or should it be deleted? Since I no longer work on this project, is it possible to use this database legally, or should it be deleted without any thoughts of monetization? What are your thoughts?

If you don’t have clear consent from those customers, you shouldn’t use the data better to delete it to avoid GDPR issues.

If the data was collected with proper consent, it might still be usable in a compliant way. But if you're unsure, it's smarter to walk away than risk GDPR trouble sometimes no move is the best move.

If the database was collected for a specific perfume project and you no longer work on it, you don’t have a legal basis to use or sell it under GDPR. The safest option is to delete it rather than think about monetization.
