To start with, my understanding is that 301 redirects are very hard to detect and they pass a huge amount of link juice. Hence, am thinking of doing a 301 redirect from a powerful niche relevant domain to the moneysite and carrying out all sorts of linkbuilding (eg. PBNs, tiers) on the 301ed domain instead.

Here's a simple description:
Normally
Linkbuilding strategies > Moneysite

What I'm thinking of
Linkbuilding strategies > Niche relevant 301 domain > Moneysite

Do you guys think this will work out? Would like to hear your views. Thanks so much in advance.

301 still works so yes. Niche relevant 301 with good metrics works really good.

why you link to redirected domains? I am not using this method, Now I am doing only guest posting, content marketing, blogging - thats it

Sorry guys I think I didn't explain clearly enough in my original post. Am thinking of directing links to the 301ed domain to make it more difficult for competitors to find out about my link building strategy (eg. PBNs, link tiers etc). Have already blocked most or all PBNs from crawlers such as ahrefs, but just wanna foolproof it even more.

Logically, the link juice as a result of these linkbuilding activities to the 301 will flow nicely to the moneysite?

Yes

There are quite a few reasons why building blackhat links to a 301ed domain might be useful. The most obvious is that you can easily point the referred domain elsewhere if everything goes bad.

If you want to play it safe and make sure you can always get back to where you were before you started building links, building them to a referred domain instead of to the site itself is a great way of doing this.

You can easily find links getting built this way, wont hide them from comp.

You are better off blocking bots on Pbn's and only use real BH techniques for churn and burn sites.
