I think Webmaster tools is the issue here. I would not use any google products while doing blackhat seo.
Another possibility is you were in the so called "honeymoon" period.
Wait a few days, and see if the site ranks back.

Yeah the sapes were not a good idea. What about moving all content to new site and killing old site?

15 days is very short period of time when your are talking about Google sorting your site on the index
since you built up a bunch of link, maybe google is re-evaluating your site to place it somewhere else
again this is speculation of course

i wouldnt recommend remove the 301's since is you sites gets checked
a lot of links coming and going in few days may seem very suspicious
