Hi, I have a sandboxed domain that I do not use anymore, and I wanted to know if I put a 301 redirection on it to another website that I own and with which I'm targetting the same keywords that the former one, does it can improve my ranking or drop it so ?

G will likely ignore it or punish the other site. You must take a risk and try this out. I would not mix up domains that have penalties/sandboxes whatsoever.

Do you know for sure that your site is sandboxed or penalized in some way?

After recent experimenting with 301 re-directs its noticed that the value is passed along before the penalty is passed. For this reason you could use it to add value to a site temporarily, but it can't be for a site that you would hope to rank long term and therefore should only be used for occasional rankings like a product launch.

Don't do it because the link juice from all your dodgy links will pass onto your other site.
