301 Redirecting Site After Disavowing Links

I have a site that has some very valuable links going into it but also some very spammy ones. I fear the site may have an algorithmic penalty and have created a disavow file. To my knowlege, there is no way to determine if you have an algorithmic penalty or if your site just isn't ranking on it's own merits. Since we haven' gained enough relevance since the disavow, I was wondering if I could 301 redirect the domain to a site in the same niche so I could pass on the value of the good links.

My question is, would the disavow still disavow those links? Also, is this method suggested or would it carry risks even though a proper disavow file had been completed?

If you have any knowlege on this subject, please contribute.

I have 301 a site with disavowed links to very good effect. But both sites where churn and burn.....though i got 6 months out of it before (different) penalty happened. So i would say go for it. If its an important brand site then its a risk..that only you can decide if it is worth taking.

It is an important brand site. Definitely not churn and burn. So you'd suggest not redirecting it. Out of curiosity, does anybody know if a 301 redirect push a penalty to a different site, how long it would take to recover after removing the 301 redirect?

If it got penalized after 6 months, its probably coz you were not maintaining your 301.

301's are just like regular sites, you got to link them well too, else they WILL lose their juice :)
