301 redirect question

So I need to 301 redirect my old domain to my new one, lets say we've got

http://www.example.com and I want to 301 redirect to http://example.net

I want the 301 redirect to redirect but currently my website sends all old links to the homepage, I would like it to just change the domain so for example if we had

http://www.example.com/sub-page/example it would go to http://www.example.net/sub-page/example

How can I properly 301 redirect that so sub-pages just 301 redirect to the new sub page?

Setup wordpress on example.com and then you can redirect any page to page with redirection plugin.

Situation is a bit more complicated than that, many multiple redirects etc but I figured it out so no worries!
