From what I understand you can 301 redirect to another site thereby passing the link juice from one to another. I also understand that google will "de-list" the 301 site after a few (three?) months.
What I would like to know is can one remove the 301 code after, say, one year (long after it's been de-listed from G) and retain the original link juice it had, or will the second site keep all that juice?
