301 Redirect Question

I have been building links to my website now for a couple of months and have been using http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain for all my back links but in google my links show as http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain.html do i need to add a 301 redirect for all my sub domains so i get the link juice from my link building?

For example

http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain >301>> http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain.html ?

Or does that only apply to the www. version redirected to the NON www. version of the domain?

This is an interesting question. I would use SEO quake to see if any of those links are actually being used as backlinks for the /sub-domain page.. if not, I would set a redirect.

I guess the real test would be, if you type in what Google shows your link as being, do you end up at the proper page? If so, then you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I checked at backlink watch and it showed diffrent backlinks to both pages

http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain.html 230 backlinks

http://www.mydomain.com/sub-domain 60 backlinks

So google must be seeing the pages as 2 diffrent pages i think so i have 301 redirected all my pages in the .htacces's file and in my cPanel should sort it out...

Just do a mod_rewrite to redirect to the page you want. Then sit back and wait for google to update the changes.
