301 Redirect Question

Hello BHW Members,

I have a Page: abc.com/sample-post/ and It get quite good traffic since it already been ranked on Top 3 Spot.

I think it deserves a Niche Relevant Domain. So, I want to 301 redirect this page to entire new domain xyz.com. My question is, Can I copy all content from the previous page to a new site? It has 4000 Words written and I don't want to waste my time and money for an article again.

Also, How much time it will take to move up in SERPs? I'm afraid of doing such practice coz I never done it. So just asking your opinion about this.

A better idea would be to make that new domain and then write another completely new article that is similar (but new or completely rephrased) and optimized for the same keywords. That way, you can rank that article as well and take up two spots on the front page of Google.

Yes, you can copy the content to a new domain and 301 the old page to the page on the new domain. It's probably a bad idea, though, unless there's a really good reason why it needs its own domain.

Even with a 301, it might not rank as well as it used to, particularly if it's on a completely new domain that has no/little authority.

It might never regain its rankings. If it does, you should expect to wait at least a few weeks. The old article might stay indexed for a while (and people who click it would be redirected to the new site), but that would probably fall out of the SERPs soon enough, at which point there's a good chance you'd have nothing at all on the first page.
