301 redirect query

Hi,

I found an expired domain with DA 14+ and backlinks from high DA sites with around 500+ RD. Now i want to pass this link juice to my current affiliate site, how should i redirect it from below two methods

1) Direct 301 redirect from Domain panel
2) Make small website (dummy site) and then redirect it to my main website

Pls guide.

You can go both ways. If I am at your place, I would set up a small page saying "Acquired by domain.com"

You can do either of the options suggested to you I would do directly but then you can try a different method too

go with the direct 301 redirect from domain panel and In order to preserve both your traffic and back-link equity from the old domain, it’s important to 301 redirect all of your individual URLs to the new domain.Â The simplest and most efficient way to do this, is via your site’s .htaccess file. If you look at the diagram below, this illustrates how you can host a lone .htaccess file on your old domain that redirects all requests onto their counterpart at the new domain

DA 14 with 500 RD looks fishy as hell. DA is very susceptible to the amounts of RD and tend to grow disproportionately. Check other metrics like Ahrefs and Majestic to see whats going on.
Unless you find like 5 ultra-value domains you may dismiss it

Personally just by seeing that metrics, I will never go for it. If at least it was 20 DA, it would make a little bit more sense to me.
