301 Redirect from sites like Forbes.com, Entreprenur - Worth it?

As title says - does the 301 redirect from these high authority sites actually pass on any value or is it not working anymore?

So if the link is to inner page of original site its not as valuable? Link from Forbes/Entrepreneur needs to be going to home page? Or is there a way to redirect link from inner page on old domain to home page of new site?

You'll lose link juice at every hop. For example, if the link from an article goes to http version of a page - it'll redirect to https version of the same page - and then you redirect it to home page, it'll count as 3 hops and there will be loss of link juice. The lesser the hops, the better the value of the link. You can create a similar page with same URL structure or redirect it to home page, it'll still be valuable. You should also take care of other things like link relevance to pass maximum value.

Yes, it works before 10 days I redirected a domain that contains a link from Forbes.com. I got a little boost in traffic.
