301 Redirect Expired Domain

Hey everyone,

I recently got a domain that has a nice amount of backlinks pointing to it. I want to 301 redirect all the backlinks that he site has to my own website.

My question is: Do I have to create a 301 for every singe URL that has a backlink (e.g example.com/cars , example.com/cars/red/) or is there a more simple way to redirect every backlink that is pointing to that website to mine?

You can redirect the whole domain via registar (no hosting needed). My advice is to put the old nameservers (you can check them here: http://whoisrequest.com/history/ ) wait for a month at least after the domain get back in the index and then do the redirect via domain registar. In my experience this gave the best results.. Also note that the anchors of this domain you 301 will transfer to your website as well.

Thanks for responding. By "domain get back in the index" I would have to set up the website tho, right? So I would have to create a basic homepage for it to get back into the index?
One more thing. I set up the domain redirect already and it works for the mainpage (example.com). However, when I look up the backlinks for that domain and open one of the backlinks (e.g. www.spain.com/spain/andalucia/gastronomy.htm) I get a 404. How do I get those pages to redirect aswell?

No just, redirect the entire domain. And it will pass all the backlinks that it's pages have and all the link juice with it.

You dont need to setup website or anything. Just put the original nameservers and the domain will pop up back in the index. Then when you made the redirect at registar level (NO HOSTING! Just login to the website where your domain is registered, for example GoDaddy, Namecheap etc and made the redirect directly). This way all the old pages are redirected to your domain.

I read something recently about using the old nameservers if you were using it as a PBN you put the old nameservers in position 1-2 then the new nameservers in position 3-4 (Google sees the original nameservers which are a good thing apparently)

yeah this is from Mat Diggity PBN tests. But in the 301 case scenario - you just use them in order to get the domain back in the index and thats it. No need of new nameservers at all.

I never knew you could get a site back in the index without a working namesever or hosting. I guess we learn something new everyday.

Read my post again.

You NEED the nameservers to get the domain back in the index. But thats all - no need to put first the 2 old then the 2 new nameservers - just use the old ones and thats it.

If you were going to use the domain as money site would you still put the old nameservers first then the new ones after?
